The sun is shining bright

After yesterday's doompost on how privacy is dying, I went back to the gym for the first time in a long time. I will go more in depth on why when I post about privacy measures you should take (out soon), but either way that's something I do when I'm having a paranoia episode.

Something I usually do when I do cardio is I will watch videos in Japanese to get exposure while on the treadmill. You might have heard me gush about my favorite VTuber at some point. If you haven't, you will now.

The cool thing about Hairpin Mamire is that she's one of the very few VTubers I have found to focus on DIY projects. Apparently that's more of a thing in Japan (closest western VTuber-adjacent person I can think of is Uwos Lab), and she has a really cool "summer holidays" vibe that I absolutely love. She doesn't feel like she's doing it for the views and trying to go viral like Uwos Lab, she isn't doing a tutorial video, she is figuring things out along the way and you can totally see that on the videos where she fails, like the bagpipe episode. She's made her model by herself in Blender (basedbasedbasedbasedbased) and keeps learning and doing new stuff at every episode.

Words cannot express how much I admire this girl. We genuinely need more VTubers that don't simply sit down and play games (no shade to those, I also love those - they just can't compete with outdoor activities).

Today also was also just coincidentally beautiful. The sun was shining and while the weather was not at all warm, the mere presence of the sun made me a lot calmer. Thanks, sun!
